"7as Jornadas Técnicas Internacionais de Resíduos" provide a forum that represent the sector and contribute to its acknowladgement. Indeed, it is an opportunity to stress how to innovate in waste management and infrastructure operation, preserve and valorize resources, either materials or energetic that are present in the waste.

In fact, the solid waste sector experiencing a particular moment, very dynamic, especially due to the end of a cycle and the beginning of another, in which the need for adoption of measures to comply with the statutory goals laid down emerges, in particular regarding to new generation infrastructures, or rehabilitation of existing ones, as well as in management, awareness raising and environmental education.

It is an opportunity to exchange experiences with our guests and, given the high capacity that Portugal was getting in the last decade in this area, draw the right conclusions for the near future.

For this edition Energy from Waste was elected as general theme. In this context, with emphasis on waste as a valuable resource, technological developments and new materials will be pointed out, new problems will be identified and the best solutions in terms of better economic and environmental cost/benefit ratio will be shown.
